Blue Thunder at the 2014 Bellevue 10K
It was great to hear the Blue Thunder pumping up the finishers at the Bellevue 10K Run last Sunday. I needed all the encouragement I could get since it was the first 10K race I’ve run in many years.
Twenty years ago, I would have considered this semi-hilly course an easy training “jog” but now my middle age body hesitates like an overloaded light truck up the hills. I was rusty but didn’t break down. In my 20s and 30s, I would run races by targeting runners ahead of me to pass. These days, I don’t even try to keep up with the people who pass me. My goal is to simply finish without an injury.
Although the forecast the previous day called for winds and showers, they never came. It turned out to be a sunny and comfortable day for running.
