Seahawks Halloween Pumpkin

In honor of the franchise record 7-1 season the Seahawks are having, my daughter decided to dress up as a Seahawks player this Halloween. Along with that theme, we carved the Seahawks logo on her pumpkin. It got a lot of compliments from Trick or Treaters.

Super Menu for Super Bowl Potluck

We hosted an excellent, delicious Super Bowl potluck at our house yesterday. Five other families came over to indulge in football, food and friendship. Watching the Super Bowl with friends and family is one of the quintessential American traditions. In the end, the food turned out to be more exciting than the game in my [...]

First Clams of the Year at Wolfe Property State Park

Many years ago, it was a bigger island and a gathering place for picnickers, fishermen, and clam [...]

Happy as a Clam at Dosewallips State Park

On a picture perfect day last weekend, I went clamming with some friends to Dosewallips State Park on the Hood Canal. Dosewallips is one of my favorite places to harvest clams and oysters in Washington state because it has a scenic beach, there’s a ton of space for everyone, and the shellfish is plentiful. This [...]

Ceiling of the Northern Lights Dome Room in the Arctic Building

I was recently inside the famous Northern Lights Dome Room in the Arctic Building in downtown Seattle for a business meeting. As I was listening to the speakers talk about their businesses, I could not resist glancing up toward the ornate ceiling that was beckoning for attention. The Arctic Building was originally built for the [...]
