On my recent trip to the Evergreen State Fair, I was taken aback by how much of the food being sold there was unhealthy and extremely fatty. It’s no surprise that fairs and amusement parks sell a ton of unhealthy foods. Maybe it’s because these are the kinds of foods that people who go to fairs want to eat.
One food vendor was selling bacon wrapped hot dogs! I don’t want to know how much additional fat and calories bacon adds to a hot dog.
I also noticed that most of the people at the fair did not have a healthy body weight. In my unscientific sample of people around me, more than two-thirds of them were either obese or overweight.
Some of the activities at the fair are fun for my kids but I sure don’t want them to eat like some of the unhealthy visitors do.
