Christmas display at a supermarket in September
I was shopping for groceries at the local supermarket the other day and was surprised, but not shocked, that Christmas lights and ornaments were already on full display. I remember seeing Christmas products for sale as early as October but I don’t recall ever seeing them for sale in September. In the Seattle area, we’re just approaching autumn this week. The rains are on the horizon, the days are shorter, and there’s a chill in the air at night. But with the leaves still clinging to the trees and the lack of fall colors, Christmas seems like a very distant holiday. I’m certainly not in the mood for Christmas shopping; I’m still clinging to warm summer we’ve enjoyed this year.
