Marionberry cobbler at the Halfway House Restaurant

Stopping for a slice of homemade pie at the Halfway House Restaurant in Brinnon is always a great way to cap off a great day after digging for clams and slurping oysters on the beach. As the norm, the selection of pies made  it difficult to choose which treat to have. But, after the waitress announced that a fresh batch of marionberry cobblers just came out of the oven, we were instantly sold!

Topped by a large scoop of vanilla ice cream, the flaky “melted-in-your-mouth” crust and the sweet tartness of fresh berries made a strong case for the best dessert of the year!
